Xpedior Gains on H-P Contract

Xpedior, Inc. (Nasdaq: XPDR) was up 0.44at 1.19 early Tuesday after the company announced an alliance with computer giant Hewlett-Packard.

Xpedior and Hewlett-Packard consultants will work together on variousprojects, including products for e-commerce software maker BroadVision(Nasdaq: BVSN). Hewlett-Packard will invest capital and technical resources to help Xpedior market BroadVision products for the retail industry, the company said.

“The demand for BroadVision technology has never been higher,” said NigelBall, vice president of e-business development at Hewlett-Packard. “Right now, our sales force is the throttle, and we are looking for Xpedior to provide the gas.”

Xpedior chief operating officer Vince Verna said the company expects theagreement to “drive new revenue for Xpedior as the significant new businessopportunities generated with HP’s sales force are realized.”

Verna added:”We also expect this relationship to create significant opportunities toshowcase our integration and implementation expertise.”

The two firms may also collaborate on mobile and application service providerproducts, emerging markets and trading communities. A marketing campaignaimed at showcasing Xpedior and Hewlett-Packard e-commerce initiatives isalready underway, the companies said.

Xpedior, based in Chicago, Illinois, provides e-commerce consulting services to global corporations, government entities and emerging digital businesses.

Last month, Xpedior said it would cut about 380 jobs asit closes unprofitable offices and focuses on a set of core industries. Thecompany, like others in the consulting business, has been hurt by the recentdot-com shakeout.
