Forbes Magazine Ranks the E-Commerce Times As a Top Ten Technology News Site

The E-Commerce Times, the world’s leading e-commerce news portal, has been selected by Forbes Magazine as one of the top ten technology news sites on the Internet. The ranking appears in Forbes “Best of the Web” Spring Edition, dated February 28, 2000.

Forbes chose the E-Commerce Times for its in-depth coverage of e-business and technology news. The E-Commerce Times ranked among some of the world’s other leading technology news sites, such as CNET (Nasdaq: CNET), ZDNet (NYSE: ZD), IDG.net, and Salon.com (Nasdaq: SALN).

In evaluating technology news sites on the Web, the Forbes article noted that many sites simply reprint the same news from the same sources, such as Reuters and Bloomberg. According to Joanne Gordon of Forbes Magazine, “Many sites piggyback off of each other; Red Herring links to ZDNet. ZDNet links to wire services. Other sites simply display Reuters or Bloomberg for breaking news.”

In contrast, the E-Commerce Times is one of the few sources of original, in-depth e-business news and analysis. The site also provides an e-commerce job board, product guide, and small business advice.
