Optika Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTK) rose 1 31/32 to 6 Thursday after the company announced alliances with WebMethods Inc. and Xerox Corp.
Optika, a Colorado Springs, Colorado-based maker of software for business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce, said it will partner with WebMethods to provide a way for businesses to exchange transaction information over different systems.
The new products will help businesses “unite the digital world of e-business with the non-digital world of traditional business,” said Optika President and Chief Executive Officer Mark K. Ruport.
The Xerox deal is an extension of an existing contract. Xerox Connect, a subsidiary of the Xerox Corp. that provides information technology consulting and systems integration, and Optika will work together to help customers “establish virtual offices on the Web,” Optika said.
Xerox Connect will recommend and sell Optika products to its customers.
