Stock Watch: Versata Shares Soar in $92 Million IPO

Versata, Inc. shares soared in their first day of trading as the e-business software maker raised $92.4 million from the sale of 3.85 million shares. Versata gained 68 3/4 Friday, closing at 92 3/4.

Versata, headquartered in Oakland, California, says its “E-Business Automation System” is used by such Fortune 1000 companies as MCI Corp. and J.P. Morgan & Co., as well as by e-business companies like Yet2.com and NetFreight.com.
