S1 Corp. (Nasdaq: SONE) rose 7 to 29 1/2 Thursday after the company said its VerticalOne unit entered into an e-mail marketing partnership with LifeMinders, Inc. (Nasdaq: LFMN).
LifeMinders, a direct marketing company, will use VerticalOne technology to provide its 1.5 million members with summary information about investment, credit card and bank accounts via e-mail. The company will also e-mail information about travel and hotel reward programs and other offers.
The service will initially be available to LifeMinders members by way of personal computers, though the company plans to make it available over cellular phones, pagers and other handheld devices.
“Beyond the Web, we view e-mail as an incredibly powerful medium for consumers to quickly and conveniently access their desired personal account information,” said VerticalOne Chief Executive Officer Gregg Freishtat.
LifeMinders shares also rose, gaining 7 1/2 to close at 29 1/2.
