Online meetings company WebEx Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX) jumped 15 7/16 to 55 3/8 Thursday after the company said Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) will use WebEx’s Meeting Center in its broadband communications group.
Through WebEx’s Meeting Center, Motorola will be able to demonstrate its Web content and broadband services to customers and prospects, as well as hold Web-based seminars and briefings.
“Web-based communications are critical for sustaining a competitive advantage in today’s global marketplace,” said WebEx vice president Glenn Reinus. In addition to Meeting Center, the company provides a range of interactive services through its own Web site and co-branded sites.
