Stock Watch: IPO Market Gets Back Into Gear

Start your engines. August was a quiet month for Internet initial public offerings, but it looks like things are going to start heating up again now that the entire Internet sector is looking firmer and many traders are back from vacation. Many IPOs that were recently postponed will be making their Wall Street debuts in the next few weeks, and they’ll be joined by more than a handful of other Internet issues. More than 20 Internet companies are expected go public this month.

One e-commerce play to watch this week is Garden.com, which sells more than 16,000 gardening products on its Web site. Another to keep an eye on is Vitria Technology, which develops e-business software.
