Stock Watch: Inktomi Lines Up More Big Customers

Internet infrastructure company Inktomi (Nasdaq: INKT) is known for powering portal sites and e-commerce businesses, and the company added more than a handful of big customers on Wednesday. Inktomi, which offers portal services including a shopping engine, climbed 3 to 119 on Wednesday after the company announced 10 new customers. Among the most notable are Network Solutions and online women’s network Oxygen Media.

Inktomi looks like one of the most solid Internet infrastructure plays, having worked with such companies as America Online, British Telecommunications, CNET, CNN, [email protected], Intel, RealNetworks, Sun Microsystems and Yahoo!. With the deals announced Wednesday, Inktomi has more than more than 50 portal and destination sites using its search engine technology.
