HearMe (Nasdaq: HEAR) rose 31/32 to 7 9/32 Tuesday after the company, which makes voice communication software, said its technology will be incorporated into the next version of Eudora e-mail from Qualcomm Inc.
With the touch of a button, users of the popular e-mail program will be able to invite others via e-mail to pick up the phone to have a conversation. Qualcomm said it is working on other ways to provide users with “collaborative environments” centered around Eudora e-mail.
HearMe general manager Frank Chu said Qualcomm’s use of voice technology is “a logical leap forward in expanding the reach and ease of use of e-mail communications.”
