Stock Watch: Healtheon Link Powers CVS

CVS Corp. (NYSE: CVS) was another Internet winner Tuesday. The drugstore chain rose 2 5/16 to 41 after it launched an updated Web site linked with Internet health-care company Healtheon/WebMD (Nasdaq: HLTH).

The Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based drugstore company’s CVS.com site will be the exclusive e-pharmacy for Healtheon/WebMD.

CVS has a similar alliance pending with Merck & Co. (NYSE: MRK), under which it will be the only pharmacy to accept online prescription orders from Merck-Medco’s 51 million members.
