NetCreations, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTCR) was up 1/2 at 11 3/4 early Tuesday, after the e-mail marketer agreed to be acquired by DoubleClick, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCLK) for stock worth about $191 million. DoubleClick was up 3/4 at 29 3/4.
The New York-based DoubleClick will issue 0.41 common shares for each NetCreations common share. The deal values NetCreations at $12.15 per share, based on Monday’s closing prices.
NetCreations sends e-mail messages on behalf of more than 2,000 clients, including Dell Computer, Compaq, J. Crew and Ziff-Davis. The company also manages opt-in e-mail lists exclusively for more than 350 Web sites, including CNET, About.com, Network Solutions, CBS SportsLine, FortuneCity.com and Internet.com.
