Stock Watch: BroadVision Builds on Asia Momentum

BroadVisionInc. (Nasdaq: BVSN) rose 1 1/16 to 77 9/16 after the company announced a string of new customers in Asia, as well as the opening of new offices in Taipei and Seoul.

The Redwood City, California-based supplier of personalized e-business software said it is continuing to build momentum in Asia, which is likely to “see an overwhelming surge in e-business and Internet activity,” according to BroadVision President and Chief Executive Officer Pehong Chen.

New Asian customers include manufacturer Samsung Electro-Mechanics; credit-card firm Samsung Card; electronics maker Toshiba GPS; office-products company Ricoh; telecom company Dacom; computer distributor Hewlett-Packard Commerce Center (Singapore); online bookstore China Information Highway Corp.; Overseas Union Bank and its securities subsidiary; Shanghai Bank; ABN-AMRO; and Jardine Fleming Taiwan Securities Ltd.
