SpeechWorks International Inc. (Nasdaq: SPWX) fell 8 7/16 to 64 5/8 Monday following reports that Barron’s magazine columnist Alan Abelson said the stock was overvalued.
SpeechWorks, based in Boston, Massachusetts, provides technology that allows people to access computer-based information by speaking into a regular telephone line.
On Tuesday, SpeechWorks said it will partner with General Magic Inc. to develop and host voice-based applications aimed at the telecommunications and Internet industries.
