Travelocity.com (Nasdaq: TVLY) rose 1/4 Wednesday to 16 after the Fort Worth, Texas-based online travel service announced an agreement with AT&T Wireless Services to provide mobile phone users with access to the Travelocity site.
Travelocity said it will be the travel content provider for AT&T’s Digital PocketNet service. Initially, subscribers will be able to review flight itineraries and check schedules and status for all major airlines. By late summer, services including flight booking will be available.
The service will be available to AT&T customers using Mitsubishi T250 or Ericsson R280LX wireless Internet phones. The PocketNet service also includes entertainment and financial information, as well as news.
