Stock Watch: AT&T Agreement Boosts Network Commerce

Network Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq: NWKC) rose 13/16 to 6 3/16 Monday after the company, which runs the ShopNow.com service, announced an agreement with AT&T Wireless Services (NYSE: AWE).

Users of AT&T’s Digital PocketNet phones will be able to comparison shop and do business with merchants on ShopNow.com. The service currently covers “select merchants,” but will be expanded over time, Network Commerce said.

Network Commerce Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dwayne Walker called the agreement “one of the first steps in our wireless strategy to provide businesses and merchants with the networks to extend their e-commerce initiatives to wireless devices.”
