Vignette Corp. (Nasdaq: VIGN) gained 6 1/6 to 35 1/8 Wednesday after the company announced a venture to provide e-commerce services along with accounting and consulting firm Arthur Andersen & Co.
The companies said they will jointly market the new service, which will help Arthur Andersen expand its e-business and Internet consulting services. Financial terms for the venture were not disclosed.
“The key component to successful Internet commerce is developing and maintaining online customer relationships,” said Richard Boulton, worldwide managing partner for Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practice. “By offering Vignette’s e-business solution throughout our worldwide operations, we will help clients to more effectively manage customer relationships and content on the Web through highly personalized content delivery.”
