E-Commerce Stock Watch:Internet Investors Run For Cover

There’s not much more for investors to say after the shellacking Internet stocks took on Monday. Pretty much every big name was furiously sold off as investors ran for cover.

There’s a lot to be concerned about. eBay’s (Nasdaq: EBAY) recent outage, helped drag down the sector to be sure, but there are numerous other factors to consider. There’s still uncertainty about whether the Fed will raise interest rates, analysts are turning bearish and day traders who used to make thousands in a day are now in debt.

Things are getting scary, and it’s time to be careful. So if you haven’t reduced your position in Internet stocks, you need to at least be considering it.

Let’s look at the damage:

really does go on and on. The brave among us might view all this as a buying opportunity, but don’t forget that there’s still no logical way to value any of these companies. If an interest rate hike does occur, it really could be time to run and hide.
