Leading online travel agent Preview Travel (Nasdaq: PTVL) has been mentioned favorably by various analysts and publications in recent weeks, including Business Week and The Motley Fool. However, after a nice run-up, the stock fell in eight consecutive trading sessions leading up to Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the stock charged back with a bang, gaining 1-7/16 to 23-15/16 after the company launched a travel protection program to offer its customers insurance and emergency assistance services. It will be interesting to see if Preview Travel can build on the momentum. Preview Travel is a stock that many feel is cheap and a possible takeover target, but it remains to be seen whether the stock soars to new heights or whether it will simply just stay in a holding pattern. Shares of Preview Travel were up 5/16 to 24-1/4 in early trading today.
