In a move to help buyers feel more secure, eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) announced today that it has partnered with Collectors Universe to give eBay customers expert authentication and grading options in product categories like trading cards and rare coins.
Collectors Universe is a trusted source, and certificates of authenticity from a trusted source are valuable for collectors, who often spend a lot of time trying to find out if an item is fake or legitimate.
Shares of eBay were up more than 6 to almost 155 in early trading today.
