Ashford.com (Nasdaq: ASFD) picked up 1/16 to 2 1/16 Friday after the company, which sells luxury and upscale products through its Web site, announced an agreement with Continental Airlines and an extended promotion with delivery e-tailer Webvan (Nasdaq: WBVN).

The Continental alliance is a marketing partnership that gives members of the airline's OnePass program the chance to earn miles for spending money on Ashford goods through a joint Web site accessible through Continental's OnePass home page. The two companies will promote the arrangement through the site, as well as through newsletters and direct mail.

Purchases totaling US$2,000 at Ashford will give a OnePass member enough miles for a free domestic flight on Continental, said Ashford.com chief executive officer Kenny Kurtzman.

The Webvan agreement is an extension of a holiday promotion underway in the San Francisco and Sacramento, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and Chicago, Illinois, markets. Under that program, customers who place an order of $115 or more receive a $50 gift certificate good for purchases made at Ashford.com.

The companies said they are extending the promotion through Friday, November 24th, due to "popular demand." The two are also expanding the promotion to include the Dallas, Texas; Orange County, Los Angeles and San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington markets.

"Webvan's partnerships with companies like Ashford.com demonstrate our commitment to giving our customers the ultimate in customer service, and adding value to their Webvan.com shopping experiences," said Webvan chairman and chief executive officer George T. Shaheen. "Webvan's customer base is extremely loyal, and it's these types of benefits that will keep customers coming back again and again."

Ashford.com, based in Houston, Texas, sells products including jewelry, fragrances, watches and corporate gifts.
