Stock Watch: Lycos Deal Boosts Verio

Shares of Verio (Nasdaq: VRIO), which provides Web-hosting and e-commerce services, climbed 3-1/2 to 66 in early trading today after the company announced that it is teaming up with Lycos (Nasdaq: LCOS) to market comprehensive e-commerce packages.

Verio, which already hosts more than 300,000 business Web sites, will enable participating merchants to sell their products and services to the Lycos Shop shopping destination. Prices for participating start at $129.95.

Investors seem to like this deal Increase Customer Sales with Email Marketing -- Free Trial from VerticalResponse. Shares of Lycos gained 3-7/8 to 76-3/8 in early trading today.
