WebTrends (Nasdaq: WEBT) gained 2 9/32 to 36 31/32 Tuesday after the software maker announced agreements with Cisco Systems, Inc. and Inktomi Corp. Both companies will use WebTrends' Firewall Suite security software.

Cisco will use the product in its SAFE security software. "Large-scale security monitoring solutions are fundamental to deploying and maintaining any network security solution," said Greg Mayfield, manager of business development at the Cisco security services division. WebTrends, Mayfield said, "offers excellent security products that enhance the Cisco SAFE framework and ecosystem."

WebTrends said Inktomi will integrate the Firewall Suite program with Inktomi's own Traffic Server software. "The combined products will provide an integrated solution for bandwidth management, security analysis and Internet traffic reporting," WebTrends said.
