Quokka Sports (Nasdaq: QKKA) gained 2 1/2 to 8 1/2 Wednesday after the company and television network NBC announced their strategy for 24-hour coverage of the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

The two companies have launched a Web site, www.nbcolympics.com, that will use separate programming to target sports fans at work, during prime time and late at night. The site will deliver up-to-the-minute results, along with pictures, breaking news and feature stories, the companies said.

The prime-time coverage is aimed at fans watching the Olympics on television, allowing viewers to access analysis of athletes' styles and performance while watching the events on TV. Late-night coverage will provide immediate results of events as they happen.
