Priceline.com gained 3/4 to close at 50 7/16 Monday after the name-your-own-price company said President and Chief Operating Officer Daniel H. Schulman would take on the added title of chief executive officer.
Schulman, 42, succeeds Richard S. Braddock, who will remain Priceline's chairman. Schulman joined Priceline last June.
Priceline said Chief Financial Officer Heidi Miller will "assume additional responsibilities," leading international and business-to-business ventures as well as long-term strategy and business development. Miller's move to Priceline from Citicorp earlier this year sparked a jump in the e-tailer's stock price.
