Global Media Corp. (OTC: GLMC) rose 1 5/16 to close Tuesday at 5 15/16, following news that the company received approval to list its shares on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market.

"This is an important step in the continued growth of our company," said Chairman Michael Metcalfe. "The greater accessibility of institutional investors and broader market exposure we will obtain from this listing will be of major benefit going forward."

Global Media, which makes e-commerce and streaming software, won a Linux Journal award last fall for "Best Overall Linux Solution." The company is based in Vancouver, Canada.
