A check at press time of Amazon's bestseller list for cellphones with service plans showed two versions of the Lumia 900 -- cyan and black -- ranked as the top-selling devices.

Research In Motion has been accused of infringing six patents owned by Dutch semiconductor company NXP. NXP claims in a lawsuit filed in U.S. federal court in Florida that the BlackBerry maker has infringed on patents pertaining to data transmission, GPS receivers on mobile phones, and circuit design and manufacturing.

Oracle Wows Wall St. as New Licenses Roll In March 21, 2012
Oracle released its fiscal third-quarter earnings Tuesday, coming out ahead of Wall Street expectations in regard to profits and new license sales. The database software maker saw revenue rise 2.2 percent from a year ago, going from $8.81 billion to $9.04 billion. It posted adjusted earnings at 62 cents per share, up from 54 cents one year before.

Oracle's $1.9B Taleo Deal Ratchets Up Competition in HR Space February 10, 2012
Oracle has announced it is acquiring the cloud-based talent management provider
Taleo. It is paying $46 per share, or approximately $1.9 billion, net of Taleo's cash and debt. Taleo's board of directors has unanimously approved the transaction, which is expected to close mid-year 2012, subject to Taleo stockholder approval, certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Oracle Opts for Another Day in Court With TomorrowNow February 08, 2012
Oracle is clearly not prepared to let go of the TomorrowNow case involving corporate theft it suffered at the hands of the service provider, which was acquired by rival SAP in 2005. In a legal filing this week, Oracle rejected the $272 million in court-ordered damages from SAP. A jury found in favor of Oracle in 2010 and awarded the software maker $1.3 billion in damages. The judge slashed the award last fall.
