Online retailers are failing to tap into the highly lucrative gift sales
market by wasting resources on shopping tools and services that are of
little interest to potential buyers, according to a study released
Monday by Forrester Research.

As part of its report on "The Hidden Value in Gift Sales," the Cambridge,
Massachusetts-based firm concluded that on-time delivery -- rather than wish
lists or gift-wrapping options -- has a greater effect on e-tail success
because it produces a "positive experience" for the recipient.

Re: Major Music Labels vs. A Sustainable Music Distribution Model

As the proliferation of potential digital music distribution hopefuls (Major Labels) enter our arena, remember that it is like David vs. Goliath. Ultimately, major labels will falter, when top artists recognize that their names alone can garner millions of downloads within a week by offering their music for direct download. The question then becomes how greedy do you have to be? Let's propose 1,000,000 downloads at $4.00 for a full album. Not bad when the only money being paid out is $0.25 per transaction to a payment processor. I have looked at the plethora of new entrants into the digital music distribution market, and they all come pretty close, but no cigaro. Understand that Artists, Labels, and music listeners have to be in harmony. The only way to accomplish this monumental task is to develop a Sustainable Digital Music Distribution Service/System, where all involved naturally co-exist, and benefit from each other's input. Billions of renewable dollars are at stake. In the old days, you could throw a couple hundred million at it, and it's yours. Sorry, People have gotten a lot smarter. It cost the Major Label $8 to get the final product out. Independents average $6. The new method drives that down to $4. And the one thing Major labels fail to realize, is that.......
I can't tell you how to build it! I'm building the Sustainable Digital Music Distribution Service/System for the people. It's about the music, not the Label.
