See Full StorySoftware giant Microsoft will know by the end of the day what penalties it will face in its epic antitrust battle with the U.S. Department of Justice and a group of states unhappy with an earlier settlement agreement. Most analysts said they believe Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly will work toward a compromise that involves some of the penalties proposed by the states. "I think the judge is likely to do more than simply affirm the settlement," Aberdeen Group chief research officer Peter Kastner told the E-Commerce Times. "That could have been done in a week."
