America Online has snubbed rival Microsoft by using Netscape browser technology in the
newest iteration of its software for Mac OS X users, a move that could indicate the
company might eventually oust Microsoft from its PC offerings as well. "They are
certainly thinking about it," Rob Lancaster, an analyst at the Yankee Group, told the
E-Commerce Times. That AOL would select Netscape is not surprising. After all, the online
service provider owns Netscape.

netscape Cough!!... AOL <still coughing>.
these are both awful products however you look at it, and I really can't see anything change in the near future.
If Apple wants to go to bed with AOL that's their business, but in doing so they will be damaging their already tarnished image amongst computer professionals and enthusiasts.
AOL and netscape are the bane of any competent internet user, and in my scheme of things worse than either Microsoft or apple.
