See Full StoryConsumers are a demanding bunch. And as technology gets exponentially better and cheaper
over time, online shoppers are wanting better and cheaper access to what they are looking
for. Forrester Research senior analyst Paul Sonderegger told the E-Commerce Times that
users "are downright hostile towards technology and care about finding the perfect
rug, not about bells and whistles."

Bluelight may be good at selling but the are HORIBLE at fixing problems. I had to supply a credit card to download the software. It failed and now without knowing what account number I was assigned, Bluelight continues to bill for services I never got. I contacted them and they have been unresponsive for 5 months (while billing each month) and say they can't stop billing me unless I have an account number. The credit card number, name and address is not enought. I have technology background and wonder what type of system they have that cannot search on credit card number and terminate billing. After they stopped responding to my calls for assistance, I have had to file theft by credit card fraud charges with the State Attorney Genral and still have no cooperation. I wouldn't recommend them as a model e-business.

My company tracked the delivery of orders and compared it to what retailers stated as what shoppers should expect. Some of the big guys were often LATE.
Interesting stuff.

One item that consumers want, and that will be a necessary component of e-commerce industries, is a quick and inexpensive dispute resolution mechanism. In this new era of cross border transactions, consumers and businesses alike will need to find the means to settle disputes without litigation. This can be accomplished by seeking firms that practice alternative dispute resolution methodologies and apply them to the online environment. Thus allowing the consumer and business to settle disputes without having to travel great distances and without the costs and uncertainty of litigation.
