Internet powerhouse Yahoo! announced Monday that it is launching the Yahoo! Buyer Protection Program to safeguard customers at both its Yahoo! Auctions and Yahoo! Shops sites against fraud. The new coverage is backed by Lloyd's of London and offers buyers up to $3,000 (US$) in protection.

Buy Protection sounds great but it is only valuable if it pays when you are defrauded by a Yahoo! seller (which by the way is a major problem on Yahoo! Auctions). I paid for a computer from a Yahoo seller who had only good feedback. I never got computer and Yahoo is refusing to pay the $250 due me on the buyer protection program even though I paid $534 for the used computer. Ridiculous paperwork and requirement, obviously put in place to discourage claims. Use Ebay.

Problem:
People are selling things that they do not even have in stock, then they will not refund,
then they do not answer e-mails, then they are mad once you motivate them to answer your e-mail.
Wish they had a way of rating sellers on yahoo.
