Somewhere between no-frills Craigslist and intricate eBay lies the new e-commerce offering introduced by Santa Monica, Calif.-based TagWorld last week. TagWorld, a high-energy social networking space launched last November, is combining the new service of free online classifieds, which includes images and personalized storefronts, with auction features. The service adds a new word to the wired community's lexicon: "social commerce."

John,
I really enjoyed your story concerning TagWorld. There's a large shift beginning to occur and my company hopes to be a part of it. Our new technology is an e-commerce solution which is fully embeddable into profiles on Tagworld, Myspace, Frienster, Blogger, etc. We are soon releasing a Facebook application as well.
Cartfly technology is available for private labeling and easily integrated into existing third party large social networks. We just joined forces with a site called www.perfspot.com. Users will be able to create stores directly from their administrative sections. Cartfly is strictly peer to peer sales using PayPal to execute the transaction. It' an exciting time for everyone in the industry.
Regards,
J. Manley

ZoomGroups.com has been providing that kind of service for over a year now. It's not as popular in the States as it is among Spanish speaking users, where it boosts ove 1 million registered users so far, but certainly the idea of combining social networking with classifieds and auctions is not novel. Not sure if tagWorld actually offers auctions, like ZoomGroups, or just classifieds, In fact, classifieds have been a feature of several other "social" sites before TagWorld, not just ZoomGroups.
